AP English Literature is traditionally offered to incoming high school senior students. AP LIT studies many classic literary texts. What better way to learn about the classics, than to study in the cities the novels were written?
"In the AP English Literature and Composition course, students devote themselves to the study of literary works written in—or translated into—English. Careful reading and critical analysis of such works of fiction, drama, and poetry, selected locally by responsible educators, provide rich opportunities for students to develop an appreciation of ways literature reflects and comments on a range of experiences, institutions, and social structures. Students will examine the choices literary writers make and the techniques they utilize to achieve purposes and generate meanings." - College Board
This AP LIT supplemental enrichment course offers students three weeks in Europe to become familiar with the AP LIT course curriculum, practicing in taking the exam, and sightsee many of the authors' homes and novel sites that they will be writing about on the AP LIT exam.

The three cities AP LIT will visit are:
Athens, Paris, London
While in Athens, students will begin the journey of Greek Tragedies and learn the AP LIT course catalog, thus choosing their novels for the remainder of the trip. Students will travel by train, reading a classic novel of their choice with one-on-one discussions with an experienced AP LIT teacher!
While in Paris, students will read to their heart's content in dreamy park locations, like Hemingway did when writing on the Seine.
While enjoying the historic streets of London, students will read novels written by English authors and visit many authors' homes that they are choosing to read, which include:
- * plays by William Shakespeare and visit Stratford-Upon-Avon
- * read Frankenstein and visit Mary Shelley's home
- * novel by Jane Austen and visit Hampshire
- * a novel by Charles Dickens in Portsmouth
- * read a novel of their choice by Thomas Hardy
- * short stories by Rudyard Kipling
- and so much more!
